Are you passionate about information management, record-keeping, and driving a digital first environment? An exciting opportunity exists to join a dynamic team in a leading Victorian Council's Organisational Performance Directorate!

The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Information Management Officer to provide accurate, effective, and efficient records/information and archival management services. You will play a crucial role in supporting our organisation's commitment to robust information security and compliance.

This role is classified as Band 4 under the relevant Enterprise Agreement.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing appraisal, classification, registration, and distribution of incoming physical and digital mail into the approved Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS).

  • Undertaking appraisal and sentencing of records following established Public Records Office Victoria (PROV) Retention and Disposal Authorities (RDAs).

  • Performing quality scanning and registration of corporate information into the EDRMS, including quality assessment of digitised documents and application of correct metadata.

  • Supporting staff with queries regarding information management processes and the use of the EDRMS.

  • Maintaining operational statistics and contributing to quality reviews and improvements.

  • Providing excellent, customer-focused information management services.

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Qualifications and Experience: Post-Secondary qualifications or relevant experience working within a records/information management discipline.

  • EDRMS and IT Skills: Knowledge and experience in using an EDRMS and desktop productivity software such as Microsoft Office.

  • Records Management Knowledge: Understanding of records/information management and archival principles, including knowledge of the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic) and associated PROV Standards and Specifications.

  • Organisational Skills: Demonstrated ability to prioritise duties, undertake multiple requests effectively, and work under minimal supervision.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed customer service skills for face-to-face, telephone, and email interactions, with strong written and verbal communication.

  • Digital Focus: Experience in promoting a digital first working environment.

  • A Current valid Victorian driver's licence is required
